NMPP,
Nebraska Municipal Power Pool
|
|
Oxford is a member
of NMPP
ENERGY
NMPP Energy is headquartered in Lincoln,
Nebraska and sells electric power,
Natural gas and energy-related services
to over 180 communities in seven Midwestern
states. NMPP Energy is the umbrella
agency for five other energy-related
organizations.
Nebraska
Municipal Power Pool (NMPP) is
the service related organization that
provides energy-related services to
Oxford. Oxford purchased NMPP Power
Manager Plus software for utility
and village use. Oxford has been a
member of NMPP for over 25 years and
serves on the NMPP Board of Directors.
Municipal Energy Agency of Nebraska
(MEAN) provides electric power to
Oxford and compensates the Oxford
Utility for maintaining their local
power plant. The local power plant
can be used for emergency electrical
generation and MEAN utilizes the power
plant for high electrical peaking
days. MEAN provides many services
to Oxford e.g. community and economic
development programs, energy-efficient
audits, etc. Oxford has representatives
who sit on the MEAN Board of Directors
and assist with the long-range planning
of MEAN.
Oxford was one of the first communities
to allow their citizens the opportunity
to purchase their natural gas from
other providers. Public Alliance for
Community Energy (ACE) provides that
choice for the Oxford customers. ACE
provides assistance to the communities
in the area of energy audits and key
account requests. Oxford has representative
on the ACE Board of Directors.
