Oxford Churches

The first services were held in Oxford Methodist Church in 1881 with the first church built in 1892 on the present site. Many improvements were made beginning in 1916 which resulted in the current structure. The additions made were classrooms, a Fellowship Hall and stained glass windows. Today the church has approx. 200 members offering Bible Study Groups, Youth Fellowship Group and Confirmation Classes. Worship services are held each Sunday at 10:00 am with Pastor Eldon Fablinger.

St. John's Lutheran - Missouri Synod

The first services were held at St. John's Lutheran Church in 1871. Some of the early services were held in the buffalo country school northwest of Oxford until the fist church was built in 1891. The original structure stood a few yards north of the current building which was constructed in 1968. Today there are approx. 150 members offering Bible Study Groups and Youth Fellowship Group. Worship services are held each Sunday at 11:00 am with Pastor Dale Hedstrom.

St. Michael's Catholic Church

The first mass was celebrated at St. Michael's Catholic Church in 1893. The current church was constructed in 1906. Stone blocks from a local rock quarry were hauled by horse and wagon for construction of the foundation. Many improvements have been made through the years including new stained glass windows, enlargement of the sanctuary and the addition of a new altar. Some of the early services were held in the opera house until the church was built. Today the parish has 21 families offering Bible Study Groups, Youth Religious Training and Altar Society. Mass is celebrated Sunday at 11:00 am with Father Harlan Waskowiak.

Oxford Baptist Church

The Oxford Baptist Church was first organized in 1881. Early services were held in private homes. The original church was dedicated in 1883. In 1890 the church was disbanded due to rumor and accusation within the church, however it was reorganized 1 month later. The current church was built in 1971 with a classroom addition completed in 2001. In 1985, the church organized a community Preschool Program which continues today. There are 140 members. Services are held each Sunday at 10:00 am with Pastor David Hunt.
