 Light Pollution?
Sound ridiculous?

It does to people in South Central Nebraska, but not to kids who grow up never seeing stars! It's a serious issue in the scientific and astronomical communities and in the populated areas of our country.

"A recent university survey estimates two-thirds of the world's population cannot see the Milky Way's hazy band stretch across the night sky. Light pollution has turned night into day and has robbed a generation of a star-filled sky. Professional astronomers also are battling the fog of light pollution, which is threatening their research."
