Area Foundation |
The Oxford Area Foundation is an affiliate of the
Phelps County Community Foundation, which is a non-profit,
tax-exempt entity designed to provide the community
with a vehicle to receive charitable gifts and facilitate
grant requests. A donor can give money for a particular
project or organization, or a non-designated gift,
memorial, or through their estate planning and receive
a tax deduction for such gift. Any non-profit group
can then apply for these non-designated funds through
a grant request. The money which is designated for
a particular project or group can be held by the
Foundation until the money is needed, and take advantage
of the greater interest rates available due to the
large amount of funds invested by the Foundation.
Once a grant application is received, the local
Oxford Area Foundation Board of Directors meets
and reviews the application and makes a determination,
which is then submitted to the Phelps County Community
Foundation for Approval.
Our Foundation has taken on such projects as the
dough boy statue for the cemetery, has assisted
the Oxford Community Fund Drive for the past several
years, has benefited the soccer teams, baseball
programs, cemetery, Oxford Fire and Rescue and many
others over the years.
