Hunting

Oxford has some of the best hunting in the Midwest. Major trophies have been taken in mule deer, white tail deer and turkey during the seasons of archery and rifle. Get more information on other wild game and seasons here!

Fishing

The most popular species caught are large mouth bass, white bass, catfish and crappie. The newly rebuilt pond (2010) in George Mitchell Park, the nearby Republican River and area lakes are great places to catch your limit.

Parks

The 37 acre George Mitchell Park in south Oxford has a pond, playground ball field and disc golf course. The North Park adjacent to the Oxford Swimming Pool has a large grassy area and playground equipment. For more information . . . .


Bird Watching
There is excellent bird watching in the Oxford area with over 400 species of birds.

Swimming

The Oxford Swimming Pool is the best place to cool off on a hot summer day. The Oxford Pool hosts several swim meets each year for the area swim team.

Movies
The Granada Movie theater shows top of the chart movies Fridays through Mondays, with showtimes at 7:30 p.m.

Disc Golf

A 9 hole disc golf course is located at the George Mitchell Park .

Hiking/Walking/Bicycling
Oxford is a great place for a morning run or an afternoon bike ride.

Baseball

Oxford offers t-ball/coaches pitch baseball for boys and girls as well as youth teams to age 12.
Soccer
Oxford offers AYSO Soccer for boys and girls with teams organied in the spring and fall.
Library
Visit the Oxford library. It ihas a large circulation of books, audio DVD's and high-speed internet available.
