"I
came to Oxford to purchase a business and begin a new career in rural Nebraska. A business owner's 'privilege' to be able to take time off, is offset by the 'privilege' he gets when he is working extra hours maintaining equipment, or working 12 to 15 hour days during the busy season. I am fortunate enough to have a slower period when I can take time to enjoy myself. Eating lunch at school with my children is one of the things I can do because I own my own business. Taking a day off to ride my motorcycle to Lincoln for lunch is something I do for a change of pace.

In my opinion it is much nicer to visit a larger city than it is to live there."

We started coming to Oxford to buy antiques for our shop in Arizona. Next we decided we should buy a house to stay at when we came back on buying trips. Then we invested in another house to fix up and re sell. However, we became so attached to the wonderful old house, to the people who encouraged us and to the friendly small town, we found ourselves staying here longer and longer and less and less time in Arizona. Finally, two years ago, we sold our house and business in Arizona and moved here permanently.

Why leave Arizona with its beautiful weather? It's all about the people and the friendly small town.
